APPEAL: Did you help after robbery in Hanley?


Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Stoke-on-Trent.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Monday 10 August when a 54-year-old woman from Stoke-on-Trent was walking from the town centre along Hope Street towards Waterloo Road.

As the victim reached the bottom of the road, she was approached from behind and her handbag was snatched from her. The suspect ran off towards Forest Park but was chased by members of the public who were able to retrieve the handbag and return it to the victim.

The suspect is believed to be a white man in his 20s, 5ft 5 to 5ft 6ins with short fair hair and wore a white t-shirt and blue bottoms.

A 20-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remains on bail pending further inquiries.
