Tools stolen from van in distraction theft in Tamworth


We received a report just after 9.30am this morning (7th September) of a distraction theft from a vehicle between 7:30 am and 7:40 am on 4th September, on the car park at Travel Lodge, Tamworth services on the M42 northbound at Junction 10.

Unknown offenders have approached the Transit van and stole tools and an electric testing kit.

One person stayed with the van whilst colleagues entered the services and was engaged in conversation at the front of the vehicle with a male, distracting them from activity at the rear of the van while the theft occurred.

The items stolen are:

  • Kewtech Electrical testing Kit, grey in colour, stored in a grey bag
  • Green and blue Makita jigsaw
  • Yellow and black Dewalt 18V drill set.
