NEWS: Man charged with theft in Stoke-on-Trent

A man has been charged with theft from a charity clothing bank in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Ivan Diro, aged 34, from College Road in Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with theft and will appear before magistrates in Newcastle on November 12. The theft relates to theft of clothing from a Marie Curie Cancer Research bank.

Diro was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning (Oct 27) after being stopped by officers who had been alerted to suspicious activity at the clothing banks on the car park of Tesco, Baths Road, by CCTV operatives.

A 17-year-old male from Stoke-on-Trent was also arrested in connection with the incident. He has been referred to the Youth Offending Team.
