APPEAL: Did you witness an attempted robbery in Stoke-on-Trent?

The incident happened at around 12.05am this morning (Wednesday 4 November) in Parkhall Road, Weston Coyney, when a bus driver was making his way back to the bus depot (the bus was empty).

As he drove along the road he was forced to stop due to a male standing in the road shining a laser at him, causing him to be temporarily blinded. A second male then opened the doors and boarded the bus. He produced a knife and demanded cash from the driver.

The quick-thinking driver accelerated then braked sharply causing the male to fall off the bus.

The two males ran off empty-handed towards Weston Coyney. Both were dressed in black clothing and the male armed with the knife wore a scarf covering his face and a black bobble hat.
