APPEAL: Did you witness a robbery in Burton?

We’re appealing for information after a man was approached in Gordon Street at around 8.40pm on Thursday 12 November.

A black Volkswagen Golf pulled up alongside him, travelling the wrong way along a one-way street, and two male passengers got out the vehicle. They threatened the victim, a 30-year-old man from Burton, with a bladed weapon before stealing a quantity of cash from him.

Fortunately, the victim wasn’t injured but was left shaken by the incident.

The suspects got back in the vehicle and drove off towards Edward Street.

They are described as either black or Asian and had their faces covered with scarves and hoods. One male wore jeans and a tracksuit top while the second wore a full black tracksuit. The driver was not seen.

If you saw anything suspicious in the area, or have any information on the suspects’ identity, please contact PC Timothy Horsfall at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 773 of November 12. Alternatively, you can contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
