Emergency services were called to the report of a serious road traffic collision in Burton-upon-Trent at 7.15pm on Saturday, November 14.
The collision at the junction of Waterloo Street and Edward Street was between a red Yamaha motorcycle and a grey Peugeot Partner hackney carriage.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 23-year-old man from the Burton area, was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious leg injuries before being transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
The driver of the taxi, a 40-year-old man, also from the Burton area, did not report any injuries.
The road remained closed for four hours whilst specialist officers from the regional collision investigation unit examined the scene. We would like to thank motorists and local residents for their patience whilst the road was closed.
