Motorcyclist who died in A5 collision is named


Police officers from the regional collision investigation unit have
launched an enquiry following a fatal road traffic collision involving a
Suzuki motorcycle on the afternoon of Friday, November 20.

Emergency services were called to the A5 westbound carriageway in the
Fazeley, Tamworth area at around 3.10pm.

Sadly, the rider sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.

He has been formally identified as Philip Gray, aged 37, from the Oldbury
area of the West Midlands.

The man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.

The road remained closed following the collision until about 8.30pm whilst
specialist officers carried out a detailed investigation. The police would
like to thank the public for their patience during the road closure.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Staffordshire Police
on 101, quoting incident number 459 of November 20.
