Man charged: Robbery, Blurton, Stoke-on-Trent

A man is due before magistrates in Newcastle today (Fri) charged with robbery following an incident at Blurton Filling Station yesterday (Thurs).

The 29-year-old, of Stoke-on-Trent, is charged with robbery; racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress and using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress.

The man injured in yesterday’s incident is now recovering at home.


A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery following an incident in Blurton.

The 29-year-old, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested following an incident at Blurton Filling Station, Blurton Road.

Police were called to the location just after 4.10am this morning after receiving a report of a robbery at the location.

A male member of staff has been injured as a result of the incident and is currently being treated for cuts and bruises at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. His condition is described as stable.

No money or goods were stolen during the incident.

An investigation into the incident is now underway and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 58 of December 3.

Officers will be carrying out inquiries at the location today.
