APPEAL: ROBBERY ON WOLVERHAMPTON ROAD, STAFFORD. WITNESSES SOUGHT


Police investigating a robbery in Stafford are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The incident happened at around 1.45 am on Sunday 27 December on the corner of Wolverhampton Road and Shrewsbury Road when a couple walking home from a night out were followed by two men. As the couple neared the corner of Shrewsbury Rd, the offenders ran across the road and threatened the couple with a bladed instrument and demanded their wallet, purse and jewellery. The two men then ran off with the stolen property.

Both offenders are described as Asian, slim build and wearing black hooded tops and black bottoms. The first offender was around 5 ft 10 ins tall and wore a black scarf over the lower part of his face. The second offender was around 5 ft 11 ins tall and clean shaven.

Anyone with any information is asked to ring 101 quoting incident 96 of 27 December.
