TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING SERIOUS ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION

Two people have been arrested following a serious collision in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

The one-vehicle collision occurred on the A52 Kingsley Road, between Cellarhead and Kingsley Moor, at approximately 6.10pm last night (Sunday).

A white Citroen Xsara rolled over and ended up in a field.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 34-year-old man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious head injuries. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Two other men in the vehicle, aged 24 and 27 and from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in March.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway. Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 581 of January 17.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle in use before the collision occurred.

Following the collision the road was closed for approximately three hours whilst specialist officers examined the scene.
