A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following this morning’s road traffic collision on Weston Road, Stafford.
The man, who is from the Stafford area, is currently in police custody while inquiries continue.
The collision involved a BMW car and a female pedestrian close to Copper Glade.
The woman, who is aged 40 and from the Stafford area, sustained leg injuries. She was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance.
Weston Road was closed until around 10.30am today (Thursday, January 21) while officers dealt with the incident. A traffic diversion was put in place and there was heavy congestion in the area.

We received a call just before 7am reporting the collision. Weston Road was blocked both ways from the Town End to Beaconside and traffic diverted down Cull Avenue.
