Stoke South Commander, Chief Inspector Rob Taylor, today thanked the Meir community for their co-operation throughout a lengthy police operation on Wednesday, January 27.
The incident occurred at a domestic property in Charnwood Road, Meir and surrounding streets were closed as a precautionary measure. The incident was resolved safely.
“The altercation was resolved peacefully and, thankfully, no officers or members of the public were injured,” he said.
“Officers are continuing to patrol the area to provide reassurance to local residents.”
A man was arrested at the scene and is due to appear at Newcastle magistrates court today, Friday, January 29.
Ricco Flaherty, aged 43, of Westwood Road, Stoke-on-Trent, is charged with affray.
