Update: Do you have information about pedestrian who died in A500 collision?
We are now in a position to name a man who died following a collision with a coach on the A500 southbound on Tuesday, February 2.
He is John Anthony Hall, aged 47, of Ridgway Road, Stoke-on-Trent.
Specially-trained officers are supporting his family at this very difficult time.
The investigation team are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen Mr Hall prior to the incident which occurred near to the Shelton New Road and Stoke Road interchange at 12.25 pm.
PC Brian Lovatt of the Collision Investigation Unit said: “Mr Hall was on a section of the A500 where there is no pedestrian access and it is unclear how he got to the location.
“I am sure he would have been noticed by passing motorists and they may hold vital information which will help the inquiry.
“I am also keen to speak to anyone who knew Mr Hall and who was with him on the morning of the incident, or who knows of his whereabouts that day.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 255 of February 2.
The man injured in a collision with a coach on the A500 southbound today (Tues) has sadly died. The collision, near the junction with Shelton New Road and Stoke, happened at 12.25 pm today (Tuesday).
Despite the best efforts of colleagues from the ambulance service, the man was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.
The road was closed until 3.30 pm while specially trained officers from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit carried out a detailed examination of the scene.

The injured man has been taken by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries. The road will remain closed Southbound from the A500 junction with Stoke Road while specially trained officers examine the scene.
