Officers investigating a robbery at Brown Lees post office in December have issued a CCTV image of the offenders.
The offence took place at around 4.35 pm Monday 7 December 2015 at Brown Lees Post Office.
Two people wearing motorcycle helmets, one of whom was carrying a baseball bat, burst into the shop and ripped out the till relating to the shop side of the business. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Both were wearing motorcross style helmets and made off on an off road motorbike.
DS Tim Boulton said, “This incident was very scary for the two members of staff in the shop. Fortunately, no one was hurt but they have both been shaken by what happened. It would have been a busy time of day so someone may well have seen these two offenders riding away from the post office. We believe they went in the direction of Lyneside Road and may well have been riding in an erratic manner.”
Anyone who has any information is asked to ring 101 quoting incident 502 of 7 December.
