MAN ARRESTED IN STONE AFTER ROUTINE STOP


A 50 year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering after a routine stop in Stone.

The man was driving southbound on the A34 at around 10 am yesterday (Tuesday)when he was stopped by officers near to the Stone Industrial Estate.

A search found that he was in possession of a large quantity of cash and was unable to provide an explanation as to why he had it.

After being questioned, he was bailed pending further enquiries.
